Expect a Desperate Housewife to be well-prepared for a wedding? Well, Eva Longoria certainly is.

“The wedding arrangements are going very well, everything’s great,” the actress, 32, told PEOPLE on Monday at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Barcelona. “We have a lot of things planned.”

Longoria, who is due to marry basketball player Tony Parker, 24, in Paris on July 7, presented an award at the event, dubbed the Oscars of sports.

She arrived at the gala solo in a red and pink gown by Carmen Marc Valvo. “Antonio is playing tonight,” she said, referring to the French-born Parker, a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite having to battle stormy weather in Barcelona and a cold, Longoria said she was having a great time in Spain.

“I’ve been really sick – I have a cold – but I actually went shopping today,” she told reporters. “Rain doesn’t bother me. I love rain. Barcelona is a very sexy city with rain.”

Her Desperate Housewives co-star Kyle MacLachlan was also on hand to present an award. An avid golfer, he felt right at home among the athletes in attendance. “I played golf in London on the way here,” he told PEOPLE. “The weather in Barcelona hasn’t been so good for golf though.”

After a two-year wait, Desperate Housewives’ Nicollette Sheridan is the face—and body—of Hestia bras in New Zealand.

Worthing-born actress Nicollette Sheridan signed as as the front-woman for Hestia bras in Australia back in October 2005, but the brand has only this month exported its “Desperate Housewife”-helmed campaign across to New Zealand. Sheridan, who stars as Edie Britt on Desperate Housewives—the show’s costumes are discussed in Lucire this month—was chosen as the face of the campaign by Hestia parent Pacific Brands.

Pacific is targeting women with normal figures as well as those with fuller shapes. The slogan, ‘Support for women at work’, the campaign highlights the multi-purpose aim of the Hestia range.
In the latest campaign, which breaks on both sides of the Tasman for the first time, Sheridan is shown doing the washing up, ironing, watering the garden, and working the barbecue.

The gloom of a rainy Barcelona night was brightened when a dazzling array of royals, silver screen stars and athletes, led by Eva Longoria and Prince Albert of Monaco, gathered in the city for the Laureus awards, the Oscars of the sporting world.

Sashaying up the red carpet in a red and white chiffon creation, the Desperate Housewife struck a fresh and feminine note.

“Probably 80 per cent of the scripts I get are dramatic. I’ve had very few sexy offers, to the point that I’m getting annoyed and going ‘Hey! Where’s the sexy stuff?’” she was quoted by the Sun, as saying.

“I’m going with the sexy roles for a long as I can, because women have an expiration date in this business,’ she added.”

But she also reckons that Desperate Housewives has done wonders for the slightly older ladies.

“That expiration date is getting later and later, because of Desperate Housewives,” she said.

Most actresses are dying for a role as big as Teri Hatcher’s character in ‘Desperate Housewives’. Teri, on the other hand, is slowing down and eventually hopes to work behind the scenes because she’s getting “too old to act”.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star has just sold a new TV show to a network and is planning to grow old gracefully “behind the camera.”

Teri told Easy Living magazine, “I’ve just sold my first TV show to a network. It’s a comedy and it may never make it to air but it’s exciting to be behind the camera. I’m writing a book too! I’m trying to build a business that will allow me not to be in front of the camera, because, you know, I’m old!”

The 42-year-old, who plays Susan Mayer on the hit TV show, recently admitted she was struggling to strike a balance between work, love and caring for her eight-year-old daughter Emerson Rose, according to AHN.

She said, “I’ll work a 14-hour day, four days in a row and feel like I’ve been run over. But I don’t call it tired, I call it, ‘Nothing is right, and I’m no good at my job and I’m horrible and no one will ever love me.’ This is a serial problem for mothers. We’re trying to be everything all the time. The best mom, the best worker, the best wife or the best dater. And it’s too much.”

How quickly the actress plans to leave the acting profession is unknown, but don’t be surprised if an “unfortunate accident” knocks off her character sometime in the near future.

As the host of a special charity comedy event on April Fool’s Day, it was perhaps unsurprising to see Teri Hatcher enjoying some laughs at the LA event. But the Desperate Housewives star’s beaming grin seemed to be due as much to the company as the comedy.

The man putting a big smile on the 42-year-old’s face is her film-director boyfriend Stephen Kay who arrived hand-in-hand with her at the annual Comedy For A Cure fundraiser. An item since last November, the loved-up couple couldn’t hide their happiness as they laughed and joked together before Sunday night’s show.

Mum-of-one Teri, who was previously married to personal trainer Marcus Leithold and actor John Tenning, has publically told of her feelings for Stephen. “I’m totally in love and it’s fabulous,” she said at the Golden Globes in January. “I will just say that he’s the most beautiful human being on the planet.”

And Teri’s co-stars are said to be thrilled for their friend. But although fellow Housewives Nicollette Sheridan and Eva Longoria – who herself briefly dated Stephen in 2005 – are preparing to walk down the aisle, Teri has brushed aside talk of marriage. “Oh please,” she laughs. “I’m just happy to be happy. I’m always the last one!”
