Teri Hatcher has embarked on a summer of agony to ensure she looks as hot as her Desperate Housewives co-stars.
Super-slim Teri, 42, has enlisted a team of personal trainers and dietitians to whip her into tip-top condition before filming starts.
“Every year Teri gets going on a new regime,” says a source close to Teri.
“She takes her image and her health very seriously. That, and she doesn’t want to be shown up by any of the other girls!”
Unfortunately Desperate Housewives did not get an Emmy nomination in the Best Comedy Series category =( However, Felicity Huffman did receive a nod for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series!
The honeymoon may be over, but the memories lovingly linger for Eva Longoria.
Asked to describe her post-wedding celebratory trip with new husband Tony Parker, the Desperate Housewives star, 32, tells People mag: “It was so romantic, it was just the two of us. We were completely alone together. We didn’t see people for days with the exception of room service bringing us food.”
Longoria, who returned to work on her series Monday, added, “It was great to be completely, 100-percent alone.”
She and NBA star Parker, 25, were married in a civil ceremony in Paris July 6, followed the next day by a lavish church wedding. Then it was off for a low-key honeymoon on the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos.
Longoria said she and Parker are now making an effort to spend lots of time together. On Monday and Tuesday, the new groom was with her on the Housewives set.
“Tony’s been great,” says Longoria. “He’s been coming to the set with me since we returned to Los Angeles – just like during the season when I was going to the Spurs games. With [his] season over, he’s hanging out on the set with me. It’s a lot of fun. ”
As for Parker, he has discovered there’s at least one element to married life that requires some getting used to: his wedding band.
“It’s weird, it’s weird,” he told the Associated Press Tuesday night. “I don’t wear rings. … The only ring that I was wearing is our championship rings, but you only wear that maybe two times, three times maybe. So I have to get used to it.”
He also noted, “A lot of my teammates told me they lost it like five or six times. So I’m going to try to lose it only one or two times.”
And yes, he’s learning to adjust to having a wife who stars on one of the most popular shows on TV.
“It’s not like Brad Pitt, or Britney Spears. It’s not that bad,” Parker says of the paparazzi attention he and Longoria are receiving. “It’s more for Eva, it’s not me. I’m just there holding hands, they take pictures. It’s her world.”

Award-winning actress Eva Longoria has been named the lead ambassador for a new public service campaign, created in partnership between the Callaway Golf Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation, aimed at raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer prevention.
In her role as the campaign ambassador, Longoria will appear in both TV and print public service announcements to encourage women to better understand their risks for the disease and to urge them to get involved in the cause. Ovarian cancer is the second leading gynecologic cancer and, the most deadly, accounting for more than 15,000 deaths annually. Because there is no accurate screening test to detect ovarian cancer, it is typically diagnosed at a late stage when it is more difficult to treat.
“I was shocked to learn that ovarian cancer is the most deadly reproductive cancer with no early detection test available,†said Longoria. “That’s why I’ve teamed up with the Callaway Golf Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation to educate women about ovarian cancer. Until there is an early detection test, we are urging all women to get involved in understanding their personal risk for the disease.â€
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry warned Tony Parker his new wife Eva Longoria has the body of “a 12-year-old boy” at the couple’s star-studded nuptials earlier this month (07Jul07). Cherry joined his Housewives stars Teri Hatcher, Nicollette Sheridan, Brenda Strong and Felicity Huffman at the couple’s romantic ceremony at the Chateau of Vaux le Vicomte. During a speech at the reception, Cherry joked about the bride’s petite frame. He said, “Tony, what you have to realize is under all that hair and make-up, her body is just like that of a 12-year-old boy.
Michael Bolton and his fiancé Nicollette Sheridan are teaming up to record an album of duets. The Desperate Housewives actress has no previous musical experience, but is venturing into pop after encouragement from Bolton. She says, “I am such a shy singer but Michael has made me more confident and my voice has grown. We’re planning an album of duets. “You might think its madness but we like the way our voices blend.”
Eva Longoria returned to the set of Desperate Housewives Monday after a three-week wedding celebration and honeymoon.
“It was a great wedding, but it was time to come home,” Longoria’s rep Liza Anderson tells People mag. “I got a call from her this morning and she was already at work. She sounded so great, really upbeat. She’s completely content.”
Longoria, 32, arrived at the Universal Studios lot at 7:30 a.m. fresh from her low-key honeymoon with basketball star Tony Parker, 25, to the Caribbean Island of Turks and Caicos.
The newlyweds dined over long candlelit dinners and spent their days relaxing and playing pingpong and Yahtzee.
“It was just her and Tony,” says Anderson. “They had a private villa. She’s completely relaxed and rejuvenated. She had a full week alone with Tony to decompress. It was the perfect balance to gear up for Season 4. So she’s really excited. She wasn’t dreading work at all.”
“She’s happier than ever right now,” says Anderson. “Life is great.”

On Eva’s last day before returning to the Desperate Housewives set, she and Tony went for a stroll in Beverly Hills and stopped for some ice cream.
Mr. and Mrs. Parker arrive back in LA after a week long Caribbean honeymoon.
