Majorca loves Eva

Eva Longoria
was the center of attention at this year’s Playing For Good Foundation Philanthropic awards ceremony in Spain a few days ago. Elegant in a cream cocktail dress, the petite actress chatted with guests who included Goldie Hawn and Terrence Howard.

Eva is a favorite in the Mediterranean country, where advertisers fall over themselves to be associated with her image. Neighboring France has also taken the Latina beauty to their hearts after she wed French basketball player Tony Parker in a lavish ceremony in Paris last June.

Eva wanted a longer honeymoon

Posted by admin in Eva Longoria on 08 28th, 2007| | No Comments »

Eva wanted a longer honeymoonThe Turks and Caicos were romantic, but new bride Eva Longoria says, “I wanted a longer honeymoon.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the set of Desperate Housewives, the actress says, “I didn’t want to come back to work so soon.”

After marrying NBA star Tony Parker, 25, in a civil ceremony in Paris July 6, followed the next day by a lavish church wedding, Longoria, 32, and her new husband jetted off to the Caribbean islands for a low-key – and brief – honeymoon.

And now that both of them are back to work – she with her show in L.A., and he with his team in San Antonio, Texas – the newlyweds have a rule in which two weeks may not pass without seeing each other, no matter where they are in the world.

“Tony and I make each other a priority, so we travel a lot,” says Longoria. “He was off for two days, and he flew home from Paris to see me and then flew back. I’ve done that many a time. I went for dinner to Geneva, because I was off for one day. I flew to Geneva, had dinner with him and flew back. We just can’t stand to be apart.”

The event took place at the premiere of the Nickelodeon show Go, Diego, Go Live! The Great Jaguar Rescue at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

“Tony and I would love to have kids,” said Longoria, 32, who speaks both English and Spanish fluently. Parker, 25, is a native of France.

Evas Heroes

Eva’s Heroes
, a local nonprofit organization founded by actress Eva Longoria, will soon open the group’s first after-school program for developmentally challenged children and young adults.

More than 40 volunteers from the Valero Energy Corp. Volunteer Council will be on site at the Eva’s Heroes Center on Saturday to help paint interior walls, doors, cabinets and provide other final touches for the facility.

The center is located at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and is slated to open in mid-September 2007. This particular center will provide the foundation of what could be a network of similar centers throughout San Antonio, the state, even the nation.

“Eva’s Heroes is an organization that strives to enhance the lives of the young adults that are served under the charity,” Executive Director Christiane Perkins-Garcia says, adding that the work performed by the Valero Volunteers will help make the center ready for the new school year.

Speaking of Eva’s Heroes, Longoria says, “This organization is extremely important to me and close to my heart. I was fortunately to grow up with an intellectually disabled sister, so I am very passionate about the opportunity to help young adults with development disabilities by offering a place for them to enrich their lives.”

Teri Hatcher is petitioning for better screen roles for mature actresses. The 42-year-old insists she’s constantly frustrated by the lack of choice for ageing females, and even accuses her TV show bosses of failing to alleviate the dire situation. She says, “I don’t believe they intended to cast women over 40. “We didn’t look like we were over 40 and then after we were cast, we all realized that’s what had happened.” Hatcher’s Desperate Housewives co-stars Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan and Eva Longoria are aged 45, 44, 43 and 32 respectively.

Eva Talks Honeymoon

Posted by admin in Eva Longoria on 07 18th, 2007| | No Comments »

Eva Talks HoneymoonThe honeymoon may be over, but the memories lovingly linger for Eva Longoria.

Asked to describe her post-wedding celebratory trip with new husband Tony Parker, the Desperate Housewives star, 32, tells People mag: “It was so romantic, it was just the two of us. We were completely alone together. We didn’t see people for days with the exception of room service bringing us food.”

Longoria, who returned to work on her series Monday, added, “It was great to be completely, 100-percent alone.”

She and NBA star Parker, 25, were married in a civil ceremony in Paris July 6, followed the next day by a lavish church wedding. Then it was off for a low-key honeymoon on the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos.

Longoria said she and Parker are now making an effort to spend lots of time together. On Monday and Tuesday, the new groom was with her on the Housewives set.

“Tony’s been great,” says Longoria. “He’s been coming to the set with me since we returned to Los Angeles – just like during the season when I was going to the Spurs games. With [his] season over, he’s hanging out on the set with me. It’s a lot of fun. ”

As for Parker, he has discovered there’s at least one element to married life that requires some getting used to: his wedding band.

“It’s weird, it’s weird,” he told the Associated Press Tuesday night. “I don’t wear rings. … The only ring that I was wearing is our championship rings, but you only wear that maybe two times, three times maybe. So I have to get used to it.”

He also noted, “A lot of my teammates told me they lost it like five or six times. So I’m going to try to lose it only one or two times.”

And yes, he’s learning to adjust to having a wife who stars on one of the most popular shows on TV.

“It’s not like Brad Pitt, or Britney Spears. It’s not that bad,” Parker says of the paparazzi attention he and Longoria are receiving. “It’s more for Eva, it’s not me. I’m just there holding hands, they take pictures. It’s her world.”
