Marcia Cross emerged from Ken Paves’ LA salon with a brunette bob over the weekend. While it’s just a wig and very different from her normal hair, it doesn’t look that bad!

Marcia Cross is trying to scare people against staying out of the sun as the spokeswoman for awareness group Skin Cancer Takes Friends.

Marcia, who is fair-skinned, teamed up with the organization last year and now spends much of her time away from Wisteria Lane warning about the dangers of tanning on unprotected skin and urging sun worshippers to get their skin checked regularly.

Marcia Cross is so attached to her new-born twins that she brings them along to the Wisteria Lane set.

Cross, who plays perfect wife Bree Van De Kamp, gave birth to daughters Savannah and Eden in February after filming the latter stages of season three while heavily pregnant.

But now she’s back filming, spending time away from the twins has called for drastic action.

She said: “I had them come with me last week. I think if I have one full day, then the next day they have to come with me because I can’t not see them for that long.”

Teri Hatcher is petitioning for better screen roles for mature actresses. The 42-year-old insists she’s constantly frustrated by the lack of choice for ageing females, and even accuses her TV show bosses of failing to alleviate the dire situation. She says, “I don’t believe they intended to cast women over 40. “We didn’t look like we were over 40 and then after we were cast, we all realized that’s what had happened.” Hatcher’s Desperate Housewives co-stars Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan and Eva Longoria are aged 45, 44, 43 and 32 respectively.

Three months after having twins, Marcia Cross has almost hit her post-birth target weight, she says.

“I’m still working on it, but it’s happening a lot faster than I expected,” Cross, 45, told People Magazine at Thursday’s BlackBerry Curve launch party in Los Angeles.

The actress, who welcomed daughters Eden and Savannah in February, has been working out at home with exercise DVD’s and at L.A. gym Burn 60.

“I think it’s the end of those last few pounds, I hope,” she said. “It probably won’t happen until I stop breastfeeding!”

Meanwhile, she’s still enjoying new motherhood. “I’m so happy. Sometimes very tired, but mostly just a happy mother,” she said. “I like to get the babies out now, just go out and show them the world. Say hi to the flowers.”

Cross said her husband of 11 months, Tom Mahoney, has been a huge help: “He’s there every minute, and he’s as madly in love with them as I am. I don’t know what I would do if I had one of those husbands who was just not interested.”

As for whether they’ll stamp their passports for her Desperate Housewives costar Eva Longoria’s Paris wedding in July, Cross says she hasn’t decided – she hasn’t traveled with the twins yet.

“We’re going to go on a trial trip this weekend and see how it goes,” she said. “We have no idea what it’s going to be like traveling, so we’ll have to figure it out.”
