Tony Parker and Eva Longoria enjoy a close encounter on the set of Desperate Housewives in Los Angeles recently. As for popping the question, Parker recently told People it’s something he’s been considering for a while. “I’ve wanted to do this for some time,” he said. “I am so happy.”

 “I am so happy,” Tony Parker, who got engaged to girlfriend Eva Longoria earlier this week, tells People exclusively. “I’ve wanted to do this for some time.”
In a one-on-one interview after practicing with San Antonio Spurs on Friday, Parker said: “Our families are so happy. This is a good time.”
The usually media shy basketball star smiled and laughed as he talked about his plans to be married next summer in France.
“Eva really wanted to get married in France,” says Parker. “It’s a beautiful country, a country of love and a place that is very special for us. It was important to her that we get married there.”
Parker says that he asked permission from Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich to fly to California to propose to Longoria after the Spurs played the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night.
“He was really great about letting me go,” says Parker. “He gives me relationship advice and we talk about things. Last year, he let me go to the SAG awards to be with Eva and this year, he let me go for the proposal.”
Parker says that Longoria was surprised to see him, because she thought he was traveling back home with the team. “We like to surprise each other and Eva’s better at it than I am – showing up when I don’t know she’s coming to visit,” Parker says. “I wanted the proposal to be very special, and a surprise for her.”

 Marcia Cross, who is expecting twins in April, is looking forward to seeing double.
“I won the lottery at my age to have two,” the 44-year-old Desperate Housewives star tells TV’s Extra.
Cross and stockbroker Tom Mahoney, 48, were married in June. In October, Cross announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show she was expecting twins, saying: “I was sort of blown away that I was having twins, so I just needed a minute to deal with it.”
And there are some things she’s still dealing with. “I was really freaked out and I was terrified – what if I can’t be a good mother to two and somebody would always be feeling left out?” she tells Extra.
Unlike her Housewives character, Bree Van de Kamp, Cross says she’s “domestically challenged with a very big heart.”
She also clears up any rumors of a problem pregnancy – “I haven’t had a thing,” she says, “I am absolutely, 100 percent fine” – but admits, “It’s hard to carry around all that weight. I wake up feeling like me and then I step on the ground and I’m like, whose body is that walking to the bathroom?”
As for this week’s news that her costar, Eva Longoria, is engaged to Tony Parker, Cross says: “She showed me the ring and I screamed. I think I scared them. Tony was there, and it was just fantastic!”

Parker, a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, flew into Los Angeles after his game on Wednesday night and surprised Longoria at her home as she got off work, according to the actress’s rep, who added: “The proposal was romantic and perfect.”
The couple plans to wed in France next summer in what they describe as a “big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends.”

 Eva Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker are engaged, People has confirmed.
“Eva and Tony are officially engaged,” Longoria’s rep, Liza Anderson, tells People exclusively. “The couple have never been happier.”
Longoria, 31, and the French-born Parker, 24, a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, met in November 2004. Though they played coy at first, by August 2005, the Desperate Housewives star confirmed they were a couple, asking People rhetorically, “What’s not to like?”
The pair weathered a brief split in September but quickly rekindled their relationship in Paris. The couple took in the sights, partied at the VIP Room and dined at the famed Le Coupe-Chou in the City of Light.
Longoria told People in April she is happiest when in a relationship – and said she expects to stay with Parker “forever.”
